What I wish I knew before trying clubs for absolute beginners

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where clubs stopped feeling new.

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the route for a while.

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

This reminds me of something a friend in São Paulo mentioned. I keep a note about soccer for exactly this reason.

I am curious what changed your mind.

Small caveat: context changes the answer a lot.

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

Noted, and thank you.

This is adorable and oddly motivating. I would write it down before changing anything else.

This is adorable and oddly motivating. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about beginners. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

@lanternNomad4 The Tuesday test is undefeated.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. I would test it for 5 days before deciding. Recovery is training too.

Great point, especially the part about beginners. That route sounds like type-two fun.

Good clarification — I read it differently at first.

This. Exactly this.

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. This is more useful on a tired busy month than on a perfect day. That route sounds like type-two fun.
