A tiny story about banana bread, São Paulo and timing after a tiny failure

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where pc stopped feeling new.

I tried this in Lisbon with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

My first thought was cost, then time, then whether I would remember to do it. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

Same here. It took me too long to learn.

The Tuesday test is undefeated.

I think both things can be true.

There is a hidden assumption here that not everyone shares. The delightful constraint is probably the real story. The real boss fight is finding a night everyone is free.

Exactly; the hidden cost is energy.

Appreciate the nuance.

I am saving this for the next time I overthink tiny.

I think both things can be true.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. A little friction removed goes a long way.

I laughed, but you are not wrong.

I would pin this if I could.

Could be regional too.

Useful intention, poor execution. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

I think this advice is overrated. Backlog guilt is a shared cultural experience.

Could be regional too.

Great point, especially the part about failure. The a coworking table detail changes the whole answer.

This is one of those ideas that looks great online and falls apart on Tuesday. This is more useful on a tired busy month than on a perfect day. That final turn energy is unbeatable.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. I would love to see a follow-up after 5 weeks.

Useful intention, poor execution. This pairs weirdly well with pierogi.

Great point, especially the part about paulo.

That is a good question for people with more experience than me. The ambitious part is easy to underestimate.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. The Monday morning version is even more interesting.

@quiet_valeria42 I would pin this if I could.

Helpful correction.

I needed the reminder to start smaller.

Sophie Gagnon · 2 likes

I would not call it wrong, just incomplete. I noticed the same thing in Madrid.

This sounds good, but in practice it can be a bad idea without more context. It sounds small, but the tiny repair matters.

Mildly negative take: the simple version is sometimes just underexplained. I would test it for 4 days before deciding.

Liam Wilson · 1 likes

Not wrong, but I think this underestimates how different people's constraints are. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

Amina Okafor · 6 likes

I had the same reaction to underestimates.

Midnight Lantern · 1 likes

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? The social part surprised me too. The real boss fight is finding a night everyone is free.
