Which advice about grammar did you eventually ignore with limited time?

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 10 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

Context matters here, so compare the local norm with your own constraints before deciding. You will learn more from a simple version repeated three times than from a perfect plan you never start.

- Do ten minutes daily instead of one giant weekend session.
- Save phrases you actually want to say.
- Speak badly on purpose; fluency needs reps.

That should give you a solid first pass.

Learn a few local phrases and one apology phrase. People are usually generous when they see you trying. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. The messy constraint is probably the real story.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? That is the kind of detail beginners miss. Public transit stories are secretly sociology stories.

Check the neighborhood at the time of day you will actually use it. A place can feel totally different at 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the library.
