My 10-month experiment with research in real life
Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Science feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.
I started this because my commute felt a little stuck, and research seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

Big fan of this approach. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error. Nature keeps being stranger than the simplified diagram.

I agree with the goal and disagree with the method. I am curious whether research still feels good next month. The uncertainty is part of what makes it interesting.

This sounds sensible, though I would need to test it myself. The Buenos Aires example makes it feel concrete. The uncertainty is part of what makes it interesting.

Really good advice, and it feels doable. The social part surprised me too. Now I want to read the paper behind it.
