My 3-month experiment with evidence after a tiny failure
This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. questions got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.
The detail that surprised me was how much the corner shop changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.
Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. I keep a note about evidence for exactly this reason.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. The 8-minute rule is underrated.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. For me it came down to the practice run. The uncertainty is part of what makes it interesting.

The failure angle is what sold me.

I needed the reminder to start smaller.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. I noticed the same thing in São Paulo.

That is a good question for people with more experience than me. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about evidence. It sounds small, but the routine matters.

Do you think this would work in a smaller place than Jakarta? Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

This sounds sensible, though I would need to test it myself.

Respectfully, I see it the other way.

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

I would push back gently on the evidence part. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. The 10-minute rule is underrated.

Yep, the boring details matter.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. My only addition is to make the first step visible. The scale of it still melts my brain a little.

This is adorable and oddly motivating. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

This is useful for some cases, but terrible advice if the stakes are high. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the corner shop.
