A tiny story about bibimbap, Dublin and timing

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 10 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Coffee feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

I tried this in Cairo with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? This would have saved me a lot of trial and error. I would absolutely hover near the kitchen for this.

I needed the reminder to start smaller.

Kind of wild how often else is the whole issue.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. I would write it down before changing anything else.

This depends heavily on budget, time and personality. The social part surprised me too.

I am stealing that phrase.

I would not call it wrong, just incomplete. I would test it for 6 days before deciding.

I think both things can be true.

You just saved me a bad purchase.

Noted, and thank you.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. It sounds small, but the first draft matters.

The boring logistics are always the hidden part. This is more useful on a tired rainy evening than on a perfect day.

This is adorable and oddly motivating. I would test it for 6 days before deciding.

Exactly; the hidden cost is energy.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

Not wrong, but I think this underestimates how different people's constraints are. It sounds small, but the tiny repair matters.

This feels like advice from a patient friend. I would test it for 8 days before deciding.
