How do you stay consistent when debt gets boring without fancy tools?

Run the numbers on a normal month and a bad month. If the plan only works in the normal month, it is probly too fragile. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me

I would make the decision with cash flow, risk, and optionality in mind rather than chasing the perfect answer. Most people skip the boring setup, but that setup is what makes the good habit survive a busy week.

- Keep one month of expenses visible in your checking buffer.
- Automate savings on payday.
- Avoid any plan you can only follow when life is perfect.

That should give you a solid first pass

I would prioritize emergency savings before optimizing tiny investment differences. Boring liquidity prevents expensive panic. That is the kind of detail beginners miss

The context helps. Without it I would of assumed the opposite. For me it came down to the tiny repair
