A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made on a budget

I tried this in Melbourne with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where evs stopped feeling new.

I wonder how much of this depends on timing. I learned that one the expensive way.

That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines.

Helpful correction.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. The a tiny balcony detail changes the whole answer.

I wanted to like this, but the made argument is weak. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

@curious_orbit I needed the reminder to start smaller.

This reminds me of something a friend in Madrid mentioned. The useful part is easy to underestimate.

The kindness in this post is lovely. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability. Consistency beats intensity here.

I am skeptical. The idea sounds good, but the maintenance cost is real. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

This is genuinely helpful, thanks for writing it out. I would test it for 6 days before deciding.

Can you expand on that a bit?

Respectfully, I see it the other way.

I get the appeal, though I would be careful calling it the best option.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. The quiet part is easy to underestimate.

The boring logistics are always the hidden part. The delightful constraint is probably the real story. Consistency beats intensity here.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. A little friction removed goes a long way. Recovery is training too.

This has cozy competence written all over it. The Cape Town example makes it feel concrete.

I am stealing that phrase.

Anecdote beats theory here.

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. The social part surprised me too.

I am mostly here for the follow-up. The social part surprised me too.

Love the tiny experiment energy. I would test it for 8 days before deciding.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about beginner. My only addition is to make the first step visible.
