Notes from a very normal busy month with Gaming with a surprising constraint
Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the route for a while.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 10 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? I keep a note about indie for exactly this reason. The real boss fight is finding a night everyone is free.

I disagree a bit. gaming matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations. I would write it down before changing anything else.

My first thought was cost, then time, then whether I would remember to do it. The a family dinner detail changes the whole answer.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. The delightful part is easy to underestimate. This is why house rules need a constitution.

Good reminder that boring can be good. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. I keep a note about pc for exactly this reason.

That is a good question for people with more experience than me. The awkward part is easy to underestimate. Co-op makes almost anything better.

The best answer in the thread, honestly.
