A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made after a tiny failure

The detail that surprised me was how much the train station changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.

I started this because my Monday morning felt a little stuck, and stories seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 3 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. This pairs weirdly well with jollof rice.

Short answer: yes. Long answer: also yes.

This is the gentle version of my rant.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? This pairs weirdly well with falafel.

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

Big fan of this approach. The social part surprised me too.

I would not call it wrong, just incomplete. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

That is a good question for people with more experience than me. That is where the boring checklist helps.

Can you expand on that a bit?

I am cheering for this update. That is the kind of detail beginners miss. This is kinder advice than most of the internet manages.

I would pin this if I could.

This is genuinely helpful, thanks for writing it out. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

That last line is excellent. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. This is more useful on a tired Monday morning than on a perfect day. I needed this reminder today.

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

I am curious what changed your mind.

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

@vn_baker66 Totally agree, especially for beginners.

I am stealing that phrase.

That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines.

I agree with the goal and disagree with the method. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the library.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about tiny. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. The Manila example makes it feel concrete.

That last line is excellent.
