A surprisingly useful lesson from the corner shop for absolute beginners

The detail that surprised me was how much the train station changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 3 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

I wish more posts had this much context. I would love to see a follow-up after 2 weeks.

That last line is excellent. The Monday morning version is even more interesting.

I would push back gently on the useful part. This is more useful on a tired first week than on a perfect day.

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

That last line is excellent. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.
