A tiny win from Madrid that made my week after 4 tries

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 10 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 2 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

I am saving this for the next time I overthink made. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

I like this more than the top-level advice.

This. Exactly this.

Thanks for making it less intimidating.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. This pairs weirdly well with jollof rice.

My first thought was cost, then time, then whether I would remember to do it. This is more useful on a tired winter than on a perfect day.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

Good clarification — I read it differently at first.

This made me smile more than expected. The messy part is easy to underestimate. A small test case would make this easier to trust.

The made angle is what sold me. That is where the boring checklist helps.

Not wrong, but I think this underestimates how different people's constraints are. I would love to see a follow-up after 7 weeks.

The best answer in the thread, honestly.

Noted, and thank you.

Fair pushback.

You just saved me a bad purchase.

Rohan Mehta · 2 likes

That is fair, but I still worry about maintenance.

That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines.

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

The conclusion is too broad, but the example is interesting. My friend tried it in São Paulo and had the opposite result.

Glad you shared it; small wins count. I would love to see a follow-up after 7 weeks.

This is the gentle version of my rant.

Maybe, but the tradeoff seems bigger than the post suggests. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about tiny. The Toronto example makes it feel concrete.

That last line is excellent. The São Paulo example makes it feel concrete.

Big fan of this approach. I am curious whether java still feels good next month.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. For me it came down to the tiny repair.
