Retro Gaming · by Jonas Schneider · 2026-09-20

A tiny win from Madrid that made my week with an awkward constraint

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Retro Gaming feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

The detail that surprised me was how much my desk changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.

This is genuinely helpful, thanks for writing it out. A little friction removed goes a long way.

I agree with the goal and disagree with the method. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error. This is why house rules need a constitution.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. The 10-minute rule is underrated.
