A gentle rant about silly and expectations without making it complicated

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the prototype for a while.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 7 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

I started this because my lunch break felt a little stuck, and stories seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

You explained the tradeoff really clearly. I would love to see a follow-up after 5 weeks.

You just saved me a bad purchase.

I am skeptical. The idea sounds good, but the maintenance cost is real. This is more useful on a tired first week than on a perfect day.

The kindness in this post is lovely. My friend tried it in Dublin and had the opposite result.
