I tried doing silly the boring way and it worked

part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the setup for a while.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

The context helps. Without it I would of assumed the opposite. I noticed the same thing in Warsaw

I am mostly here for the follow-up. It sounds small, but the prototype matters

I wish more posts had this much context. The awkward constraint is probably the real story

this has cozy competence written all over it. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing

the vibe here is immaculate. I keep a note about jokes for exactly this reason

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. It sounds small, but the recipe matters

I would push back gently on the boring part. The 8-minute rule is underrated. This is kinder advice then most of the internet manages

What would you change if you started over? I used to overcomplicate this constantly

This is genuinely helpful, thanks for writing it out. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near a coworking table. Glad you shared the messy version too

This feels like advice from a patient friend. A little friction removed goes a long way
