Notes from a very normal lunch break with Coffee with a gentle constraint

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 7 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

The break angle is what sold me. The surprising part is easy to underestimate.

Adding this to my notes.

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. For me it came down to the route.

The Tuesday test is undefeated.

Thanks, that actually helped.

Totally agree, especially for beginners.

I would push back gently on the break part. The commute version is even more interesting.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. The a trailhead detail changes the whole answer.

Respectfully, I see it the other way.

Short answer: yes. Long answer: also yes.

I am mostly here for the follow-up. My friend tried it in Toronto and had the opposite result. I would absolutely hover near the kitchen for this.

Fair point, but I had the opposite experience. This is more useful on a tired first week than on a perfect day. Now I'm hungry, which feels unfair.

I like this more than the top-level advice.

@bd_sparrow92 Fair pushback.
