What I wish I knew before trying performance with a practical constraint

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 7 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

Great point, especially the part about wish. I learned that one the expensive way.

Exactly; the hidden cost is energy.

Anecdote beats theory here.

I would push back gently on the practical part. I keep a note about performance for exactly this reason.

I needed the reminder to start smaller.

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

This is adorable and oddly motivating. The gentle part is easy to underestimate.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen.
