Mental Health · by Hana Choi · 2026-08-29

My favorite low-effort upgrade for therapy that actually stuck

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the routine for a while.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Mental Health feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less then 9 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it

Not wrong, but I think this underestimates how different people's constraints are. The low-effort version is probably the keeper

There is probably a middle ground here

Respectfully, I see it the other way

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. I would love to see a follow-up after 6 weeks

This feels like advice from a patient friend. I am curious whether support still feels good next month. People underestimate how much sleep changes the answer

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. This pairs weirdly well with banana bread. I needed this reminder today

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. The my desk detail changes the whole answer

This. Exactly this

that last line is excellent. It sounds small, but the recipe matters

Glad you shared it; small wins count. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing

I wish more posts had this much context. I learned that one the expensive way. People underestimate how much sleep changes the answer

This feels like advice from a patient friend. This pairs weirdly well with pierogi
