A gentle rant about playlists and expectations with an ambitious constraint
The detail that surprised me was how much the kitchen changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.
Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the recipe for a while.
Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.
I tried this in São Paulo with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

There is a hidden assumption here that not everyone shares. A little friction removed goes a long way.

The boring logistics are always the hidden part. I noticed the same thing in Berlin.

I wish more posts had this much context. That is where the boring checklist helps.

Not wrong, but I think this underestimates how different people's constraints are. I would write it down before changing anything else. The second half changed how I felt about the beginning.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. I am curious whether concerts still feels good next month. This belongs on a rainy evening list.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. It sounds small, but the setup matters.

I needed the reminder to start smaller.

The best answer in the thread, honestly.

Great point, especially the part about rant. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.
