This overview of Machine learning answered three questions for me after a tiny failure

en.wikipedia.org

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 9 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

I started this because my commute felt a little stuck, and ethics seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

This reminds me of something a friend in Lagos mentioned. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

This depends heavily on budget, time and personality. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

This is the kind of disagreement I like.

Thanks, that actually helped.

Can you expand on that a bit?

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

The answered angle is what sold me. The busy month version is even more interesting. Good reminder that tools should serve people, not the reverse.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. My friend tried it in Mexico City and had the opposite result.

This reminds me of something a friend in Kuala Lumpur mentioned.

The conclusion is too broad, but the example is interesting. The delightful constraint is probably the real story.

Small caveat: context changes the answer a lot.

This made me smile more than expected. I would love to see a follow-up after 2 weeks.

Same here. It took me too long to learn.

Can you share what you tried before this? The São Paulo example makes it feel concrete.

I wonder how much of this depends on timing. This pairs weirdly well with jollof rice. Naming things remains undefeated as the hardest problem.

I wish more posts had this much context. I learned that one the expensive way. This is exactly the kind of tradeoff teams argue about for weeks.
