Today I Learned · by Noé Petit · 2026-09-21

A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made that actually stuck

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 2 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 7 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

This made me smile more than expected. For me it came down to the setup.

Glad you shared it; small wins count. I would love to see a follow-up after 9 weeks.

Totally agree, especially for beginners.

There is a hidden assumption here that not everyone shares. I am curious whether science still feels good next month.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. I learned that one the expensive way.

Love the tiny experiment energy. My friend tried it in Melbourne and had the opposite result.

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. A little friction removed goes a long way.

Good reminder that boring can be good. The delightful part is easy to underestimate.
