What mistake taught you the most about study with limited time?
I started this because my weekend felt a little stuck, and speaking seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.
I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 2 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.
Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

Context matters here, so compare the local norm with your own constraints before deciding. If two options look equal, choose the one that is easier to reverse.
- Do ten minutes daily instead of one giant weekend session.
- Save phrases you actually want to say.
- Speak badly on purpose; fluency needs reps.
Come back with what happened; the details will make the next answer better.

The best answer in the thread, honestly.

Learn a few local phrases and one apology phrase. People are usually generous when they see you trying. That is where the boring checklist helps.

Source: mostly hard-won experience and comparing notes with people who stuck with it.

Check the neighborhood at the time of day you will actually use it. A place can feel totally different at 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. I noticed the same thing in Mumbai.

For travel days, leave one flexible block. The best thing on a trip is often the thing you did not schedule. I am curious whether grammar still feels good next month.
