Learn a few local phrases and one apology phrase. People are usually generous when they see you trying. The 3-minute rule is underrated.

Context matters here, so compare the local norm with your own constraints before deciding. If two options look equal, choose the one that is easier to reverse.
- Do ten minutes daily instead of one giant weekend session.
- Save phrases you actually want to say.
- Speak badly on purpose; fluency needs reps.
Come back with what happened; the details will make the next answer better.

Learn a few local phrases and one apology phrase. People are usually generous when they see you trying. This pairs weirdly well with shakshuka.

Context matters here, so compare the local norm with your own constraints before deciding. You will learn more from a simple version repeated three times than from a perfect plan you never start.

Hope this helps!

Check the neighborhood at the time of day you will actually use it. A place can feel totally different at 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. I would write it down before changing anything else.

For travel days, leave one flexible block. The best thing on a trip is often the thing you did not schedule. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.
