Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

I would push back gently on the sunday part. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. I keep a note about cafes for exactly this reason.
