What editing looks like when you stop optimizing everything in real life

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. fiction got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

Good reminder that boring can be good. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing. The small imperfections make it feel human.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. This pairs weirdly well with sourdough.

I found this disappointing because it skips the hardest part. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

I wonder how much of this depends on timing. The 8-minute rule is underrated.

I would not call it wrong, just incomplete. I like that it feels lived-in instead of over-polished.
