My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 8 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

This depends heavily on budget, time and personality. I would test it for 9 days before deciding.

I disagree a bit. absolute matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations. I noticed the same thing in Mexico City.
