My favorite low-effort upgrade for learning without making it complicated
My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 5 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.
A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

What would you change if you started over? I keep a note about questions for exactly this reason.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make.

This depends heavily on budget, time and personality. That is where the boring checklist helps.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. I am curious whether explainers still feels good next month. Now I want to read the paper behind it.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. The the train station detail changes the whole answer. This would be a great classroom example.

This feels like advice from a patient friend. It sounds small, but the routine matters.

The conclusion is too broad, but the example is interesting. I noticed the same thing in Madrid.

You explained the tradeoff really clearly. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

I am stealing that phrase.

Fair point, but I had the opposite experience. That is where the boring checklist helps.

I get the appeal, though I would be careful calling it the best option. This pairs weirdly well with bibimbap.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. The Warsaw example makes it feel concrete. Nature keeps being stranger than the simplified diagram.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

I am cheering for this update. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. I would write it down before changing anything else.
