A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made from my busy month notes

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. espresso got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 7 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the playlist for a while.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. The Lisbon example makes it feel concrete.

The notes angle is what sold me. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

This is the kind of disagreement I like.

Good reminder that boring can be good.

Respectfully, I see it the other way.

This feels like advice from a patient friend. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

Honestly, this is a little too vague to be useful.

The vibe here is immaculate. This is more useful on a tired weekend than on a perfect day.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. This pairs weirdly well with dumplings.

I needed the reminder to start smaller.

Could be regional too.

Big fan of this approach. I would love to see a follow-up after 5 weeks. I would absolutely hover near the kitchen for this.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. I would test it for 8 days before deciding.
