The thing nobody told me about trips from my desk
I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 5 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.
My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 4 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.
Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

Glad you shared it; small wins count. I noticed the same thing in Melbourne. Local context changes everything.

This has cozy competence written all over it. The quiet part is easy to underestimate.

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. My friend tried it in Manila and had the opposite result.

This is the gentle version of my rant.

There is probably a middle ground here. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability. The everyday customs are often the best part of travel.

This made me smile more than expected. My only addition is to make the first step visible.
