A tiny story about banana bread, Lagos and timing from my weekend notes

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

I tried this in Lisbon with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

I started this because my winter felt a little stuck, and css seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

This is genuinely helpful, thanks for writing it out. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

That is a good boundary.

I disagree a bit. story matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

I am mostly here for the follow-up. It sounds small, but the recipe matters.

Great point, especially the part about bread. The low-effort version is probably the keeper. This is exactly the kind of tradeoff teams argue about for weeks.

Can you expand on that a bit?

@priyarides I laughed, but you are not wrong.

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. I would test it for 5 days before deciding.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the library.

This feels a little overrated to me, even if the intention is good. This pairs weirdly well with shakshuka.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. The busy month version is even more interesting. The boring solution is probably the reliable one here.
