The small tactics habit that changed my rainy evening that actually stuck

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

I do not have a strong take, but the habit detail is useful. For me it came down to the practice run.

I would pin this if I could.

Great point, especially the part about habit. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the train station.

I am mostly here for the follow-up. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

Totally agree, especially for beginners.

My wallet felt that.

Same here. It took me too long to learn.

I would push back gently on the tactics part. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

Maybe, but the tradeoff seems bigger than the post suggests. The commute version is even more interesting.

What would you change if you started over? It sounds small, but the first draft matters.

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

Can you expand on that a bit?
