My favorite low-effort upgrade for bread from a family dinner

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 4 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where bread stopped feeling new.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. I keep a note about sourdough for exactly this reason.

I think both things can be true.

Thanks for making it less intimidating.

Anecdote beats theory here.

Really good advice, and it feels doable. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. I would love to see a follow-up after 3 weeks. Texture is doing a lot of work here.
