What is a realistic first 8-week plan for investing as a beginner?

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday

Run the numbers on a normal month and a bad month. If the plan only works in the normal month, it is probably too fragile. My only addition is to make the first step visible

This has cozy competence written all over it. This pairs weirdly well with ramen. A boring plan you can keep beats an optimized plan you abandon

I would prioritize emergency savings before optimizing tiny investment differences. Boring liquidity prevents expensive panic. I keep a note about budgeting for exactly this reason

I would make the decision with cash flow, risk, and optionality in mind rather than chasing the perfect answer. If two options look equal, choose the one that is easier to reverse.

- Keep one month of expenses visible in your checking buffer.
- Automate savings on payday.
- Avoid any plan you can only follow when life is perfect.

ask for the total compensation, growth path and manager expectations. Salary matters, but so does the environment you will live in daily. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today

That is a good question for people with more experience than me. I would test it for 7 days before deciding. Optionality is underrated

what would you change if you started over? This pairs weirdly well with falafel

Do you think this would work in a smaller place than Mexico City? I learned that one the expensive way

The vibe here is immaculate. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error
