A surprisingly useful lesson from a trailhead after 47 tries
My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 3 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.
Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the practice run for a while.
Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Cycling feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.
> Tiny progress is still progress.
That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where commuting stopped feeling new.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. The Madrid example makes it feel concrete. That route sounds like type-two fun.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the train station.

This reminds me of something a friend in São Paulo mentioned. My friend tried it in Berlin and had the opposite result.

I like this more than the top-level advice.

Big fan of this approach. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

The vibe here is immaculate. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

The surprisingly angle is what sold me. This is more useful on a tired quiet Sunday than on a perfect day. Consistency beats intensity here.

Thanks for making it less intimidating.
