A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made in Manila
I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.
I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 6 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.
> Tiny progress is still progress.
That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where photos stopped feeling new.

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 2 months. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

@atlasPixel61 I needed the reminder to start smaller.

This made me smile more than expected. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability. People underestimate how much sleep changes the answer.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about beginner. I would test it for 2 days before deciding. I needed this reminder today.

Really good advice, and it feels doable. I would write it down before changing anything else.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

Glad you shared it; small wins count. The cozy constraint is probably the real story. Glad you shared the messy version too.

I get the appeal, though I would be careful calling it the best option. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

There is probably a middle ground here. The low-effort version is probably the keeper. Glad you shared the messy version too.

Honestly, this is a little too vague to be useful. The quiet part is easy to underestimate.

Exactly; the hidden cost is energy.

This made me smile more than expected. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

This is adorable and oddly motivating. The 7-minute rule is underrated.

This sounds sensible, though I would need to test it myself. The the kitchen detail changes the whole answer. Glad you shared the messy version too.

Can you share what you tried before this? For me it came down to the practice run.

The framing feels off to me. Not terrible, just not convincing. I learned that one the expensive way.

Big fan of this approach. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

I disagree a bit. beginner matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? The social part surprised me too.

@solar_runner81 Yep, the boring details matter.

Maybe, but the tradeoff seems bigger than the post suggests. My friend tried it in Lagos and had the opposite result. People underestimate how much sleep changes the answer.
