Web Dev · by Ayesha Khan · 2026-09-26

Pick one for the rest of the month in real life

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 4 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 9 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Web Dev feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

Only with help got my vote. The other choices are good, but this one fits my week. The late summer version is even more interesting.

Kind of wild how often want is the whole issue.

That is the part people skip.

Adding this to my notes.

I picked Only with help, mostly because it feels easiest to live with. I keep a note about javascript for exactly this reason.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. The 6-minute rule is underrated.

Only with help got my vote. The other choices are good, but this one fits my week. The the corner shop detail changes the whole answer.
