What is your default move when technique gets messy with a surprising constraint
My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 4 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.
Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

This depends heavily on budget, time and personality. My friend tried it in Lagos and had the opposite result.

Same here. It took me too long to learn.

Surprised more people aren't choosing Favorite café. It seems like the practical answer. I keep a note about recipes for exactly this reason.

I picked Favorite café, mostly because it feels easiest to live with. I noticed the same thing in Istanbul.

I picked Try something new, mostly because it feels easiest to live with. The Mexico City example makes it feel concrete.

@br_noodle88 Good clarification — I read it differently at first.

Try something new got my vote. The other choices are good, but this one fits my week. A little friction removed goes a long way.

Anecdote beats theory here.

That is fair, but I still worry about maintenance.

Can you share what you tried before this? A squeeze of lemon would probably wake it up.

Takeout treat got my vote. The other choices are good, but this one fits my week. The the corner shop detail changes the whole answer.

Try something new got my vote. The other choices are good, but this one fits my week. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

Surprised more people aren't choosing Keep it simple. It seems like the practical answer. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the library.

I picked Try something new, mostly because it feels easiest to live with. That is where the boring checklist helps.

Surprised more people aren't choosing Cook at home. It seems like the practical answer. I learned that one the expensive way.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. For me it came down to the tiny repair.

I picked Favorite café, mostly because it feels easiest to live with. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

Keep it simple got my vote. The other choices are good, but this one fits my week. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.
