I tried doing tools the boring way and it worked after a tiny failure

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the conversation for a while.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Programming feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

What would you change if you started over? I would write it down before changing anything else.

That made the concept click.

That last line is excellent. The weekend version is even more interesting.

That is fair, but I still worry about maintenance.

I laughed, but you are not wrong.

Kind of wild how often last is the whole issue.

I do not have a strong take, but the tried detail is useful. I keep a note about tools for exactly this reason.

Can you share what you tried before this? That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

I like the idea, but the setup probably matters a lot. A little friction removed goes a long way.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? I would love to see a follow-up after 6 weeks. The boring solution is probably the reliable one here.
