What I wish I knew before trying 5k with an awkward constraint

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. 5k got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

I started this because my winter felt a little stuck, and shoes seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

Love the tiny experiment energy. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

I think this advice is overrated. The beautiful part is easy to underestimate.

I found this disappointing because it skips the hardest part. I am curious whether 5k still feels good next month. The follow-through matters more than the perfect plan.

I like this more than the top-level advice.

Fair pushback.

I disagree a bit. constraint matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations. My friend tried it in Dublin and had the opposite result.

Can you expand on that a bit?
