Explain Like I'm Five · by Paolo Garcia · 2026-09-26

What are the red flags beginners miss in Explain Like I'm Five in real life?

The detail that surprised me was how much the kitchen changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

I started this because my commute felt a little stuck, and learning seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

My practical advice is to make the next step tiny enough that you can do it today. Momentum usually answers half the question. The Seoul example makes it feel concrete.
