What I wish I knew before trying budgeting from my rainy evening notes

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the prototype for a while.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. This is more useful on a tired quiet Sunday than on a perfect day. The spreadsheet should include the emotional cost too.

Do you think this would work in a smaller place than Lisbon? My only addition is to make the first step visible.

The framing feels off to me. Not terrible, just not convincing. The Toronto example makes it feel concrete.

The vibe here is immaculate. This is more useful on a tired commute than on a perfect day.

Small caveat: context changes the answer a lot.

Kind of wild how often want is the whole issue.

Mildly negative take: the simple version is sometimes just underexplained. I would love to see a follow-up after 2 weeks. The hidden expense is usually time.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. My friend tried it in Manila and had the opposite result.
