A surprisingly useful lesson from the kitchen for absolute beginners

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 6 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where home stopped feeling new.

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

I wonder how much of this depends on timing. The delightful constraint is probably the real story.

You explained the tradeoff really clearly. The 6-minute rule is underrated. Process photos would be fun to see.

I like this more than the top-level advice.

I needed the reminder to start smaller.
