What I wish I knew before trying console
I started this because my winter felt a little stuck, and pc seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.
Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the route for a while.
Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Gaming feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.
I tried this in Buenos Aires with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation.

I would push back gently on the knew part. I would test it for 2 days before deciding.

That last line is excellent. My only addition is to make the first step visible. That final turn energy is unbeatable.

Can you share what you tried before this?

Same here. It took me too long to learn.

@brave_rider94 Anecdote beats theory here.

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

I agree with the goal and disagree with the method. The quiet Sunday version is even more interesting.

There is probably a middle ground here.

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. My only addition is to make the first step visible. That final turn energy is unbeatable.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. It sounds small, but the practice run matters.

Good clarification — I read it differently at first.

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 5 months. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the train station.

The before angle is what sold me. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.
