How do you stay consistent when investing gets boring in real life?

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 4 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

Run the numbers on a normal month and a bad month. If the plan only works in the normal month, it is probably too fragile. The 6-minute rule is underrated.
