How do you stay consistent when grammar gets boring in real life?

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Language Learning feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

Context matters here, so compare the local norm with your own constraints before deciding. If two options look equal, choose the one that is easier to reverse.

- Do ten minutes daily instead of one giant weekend session.
- Save phrases you actually want to say.
- Speak badly on purpose; fluency needs reps.

That should give you a solid first pass.

Learn a few local phrases and one apology phrase. People are usually generous when they see you trying. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

I would pin this if I could.

Anecdote beats theory here.

What would you change if you started over? The low-effort version is probably the keeper. Local context changes everything.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

Learn a few local phrases and one apology phrase. People are usually generous when they see you trying. The social part surprised me too.

Learn a few local phrases and one apology phrase. People are usually generous when they see you trying. My friend tried it in Lisbon and had the opposite result.

Check the neighborhood at the time of day you will actually use it. A place can feel totally different at 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. The social part surprised me too.
