A tiny win from Cape Town that made my week after a tiny failure

I tried this in Melbourne with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

I would push back gently on the failure part. That is where the boring checklist helps.

Same here. It took me too long to learn.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. I would test it for 10 days before deciding.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. I keep a note about science for exactly this reason.

Honestly, great taste. My friend tried it in Buenos Aires and had the opposite result.

Thanks, that actually helped.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. I am curious whether technology still feels good next month.

This feels like advice from a patient friend. I would write it down before changing anything else.
