I changed one thing and suddenly saving made sense that actually stuck

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. debt got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 3 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

I wonder how much of this depends on timing. The a trailhead detail changes the whole answer. The hidden expense is usually time.
