A surprisingly useful lesson from the train station after a tiny failure

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 6 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the routine for a while.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 5 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

I started this because my rainy evening felt a little stuck, and health seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

There is a hidden assumption here that not everyone shares. The 8-minute rule is underrated.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

I disagree a bit. useful matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

I am saving this for the next time I overthink surprisingly. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 4 months. I would write it down before changing anything else. I needed this reminder today.
