The most cozy part of learning habits before coffee

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 9 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

I started this because my rainy evening felt a little stuck, and habits seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

What would you change if you started over?

Nicolás Díaz · 19 likes

Exactly; the hidden cost is energy.

Maya Putri · 49 likes

I do not have a strong take, but the before detail is useful. I would love to see a follow-up after 10 weeks. Glad you shared the messy version too.

Aarav Sharma · 34 likes

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for.

Aarav Sharma · 0 likes

The best answer in the thread, honestly.

Ethan Brooks · 1 likes

I think both things can be true.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

Jasmine Cruz · 24 likes

That is a much better way to say it.

Cozy River · 3 likes

@coderMender82 Can you expand on that a bit?

Silver Mango · 15 likes

Glad you shared it; small wins count. The gentle part is easy to underestimate.

Elsa Andersson · 11 likes

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. I would test it for 2 days before deciding. People underestimate how much sleep changes the answer.

Lucas Dubois · 11 likes

I am cheering for this update. I would test it for 6 days before deciding. The follow-through matters more than the perfect plan.

Inês Ferreira · 11 likes

I am mostly here for the follow-up. The the train station detail changes the whole answer.

Urban Noodle · 10 likes

Really good advice, and it feels doable. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near a coworking table.

João Pereira · 3 likes

Beautifully concise.

Amelia Hughes · 9 likes

I do not have a strong take, but the habits detail is useful. The surprising constraint is probably the real story.

João Pereira · 23 likes

That is the part people skip.

Tanvir Rahman · 9 likes

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. I would test it for 10 days before deciding.

Nour Ali · 3 likes

Good clarification — I read it differently at first.

Élodie Favre · 8 likes

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. This pairs weirdly well with sourdough.

Urban Rider · 5 likes

I would pin this if I could.

Léa Bernard · 3 likes

I think both things can be true.

Laura Gómez · 7 likes

Adding this to my notes.

Ren Suzuki · 3 likes

Appreciate the nuance.

Lina Al Harbi · 3 likes

Thanks, that actually helped.

Camila Rocha · 2 likes

I had the same reaction to reminder.

Elif Yılmaz · 7 likes

I wish more posts had this much context. The weekend version is even more interesting.

Chinedu Adeyemi · 6 likes

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. The commute version is even more interesting.

Jasmine Cruz · 14 likes

I would pin this if I could.

Can you share what you tried before this? This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

Giulia Rossi · 5 likes

That would annoy me more than it helped. I would test it for 7 days before deciding. This is kinder advice than most of the internet manages.

Silver River · 5 likes

The vibe here is immaculate. This pairs weirdly well with banana bread.

Budi Santoso · 4 likes

I would not call it wrong, just incomplete. This pairs weirdly well with tacos.

Daniela Torres · 4 likes

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. For me it came down to the routine.

Mango Mango · 4 likes

The vibe here is immaculate. The low-effort version is probably the keeper. Glad you shared the messy version too.

Mateo Cruz · 1 likes

That is fair, but I still worry about maintenance.

Chinedu Adeyemi · 1 likes

This is the gentle version of my rant.

Aoi Ito · 4 likes

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. I am curious whether health still feels good next month.

Ngozi Bello · 4 likes

I think this advice is overrated. My friend tried it in Seoul and had the opposite result.

Nour Ali · 4 likes

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about coffee. The surprising part is easy to underestimate.

Tola Ibrahim · 3 likes

Really good advice, and it feels doable. A little friction removed goes a long way. Glad you shared the messy version too.

João Pereira · 3 likes

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending.

Lena Müller · 3 likes

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

Sleepy Panda · 2 likes

That last line is excellent. I would test it for 2 days before deciding.

Kabir Khan · 4 likes

Fair pushback.

Lukas Huber · 2 likes

Great point, especially the part about coffee. I would write it down before changing anything else.

Quiet Atlas · 8 likes

Short answer: yes. Long answer: also yes.

Ngozi Bello · 2 likes

Good clarification — I read it differently at first.

Lukas Huber · 0 likes

Same here. It took me too long to learn.

Valeria López · 2 likes

Good reminder that boring can be good. It sounds small, but the recipe matters.

Elsa Andersson · 2 likes

Glad you shared it; small wins count. The gentle constraint is probably the real story. Small progress still counts.

Mariana Costa · 3 likes

That is the part people skip.

Rohan Mehta · 2 likes

The conclusion is too broad, but the example is interesting. I would test it for 2 days before deciding.

Aisha Jacobs · 2 likes

I am saving this for the next time I overthink habits. I learned that one the expensive way.

Daniela Torres · 9 likes

Adding this to my notes.

Tola Ibrahim · 1 likes

That last line is excellent. A little friction removed goes a long way. People underestimate how much sleep changes the answer.

Jonas Schneider · 5 likes

Kind of wild how often much is the whole issue.

Mango Baker · 1 likes

You explained the tradeoff really clearly. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

Khalid Al Zahrani · 1 likes

The boring logistics are always the hidden part. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing. Glad you shared the messy version too.

Curious Orbit · 1 likes

Glad you shared it; small wins count. This is more useful on a tired Monday morning than on a perfect day.

Ananya Rao · 1 likes

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. It sounds small, but the recipe matters.

Mango Mango · 1 likes

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 4 months. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

Curious Panda · 1 likes

I am saving this for the next time I overthink part. I learned that one the expensive way.

Ethan Brooks · 1 likes

I would push back gently on the most part. I am curious whether mobility still feels good next month.

Tomás Gómez · 1 likes

Can you share what you tried before this? I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

Cozy Baker · 1 likes

This is adorable and oddly motivating. I used to overcomplicate this constantly. Small progress still counts.

Sanne de Vries · 0 likes

That last line is excellent. The late summer version is even more interesting.

Daniela Torres · 0 likes

I wonder how much of this depends on timing. This is more useful on a tired winter than on a perfect day.
