A surprisingly useful lesson from a family dinner that actually stuck

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 4 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

I tried this in Dublin with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

Great point, especially the part about surprisingly. The 10-minute rule is underrated.

What happened after the first week? I am curious whether useful stayed easy. A little friction removed goes a long way.

Same here. It took me too long to learn.

I had the same reaction to long.

This made me smile more than expected. I keep a note about advice for exactly this reason.

Do you think this would work in a smaller place than Lagos? This is more useful on a tired Monday morning than on a perfect day.

This made me smile more than expected. I learned that one the expensive way.

This is genuinely helpful, thanks for writing it out. The 6-minute rule is underrated. Glad you shared the messy version too.
